Google Earth Resources


The current version of Google Earth is 5. Google Earth can be used in many subject areas as a tool to demonstrate geographical features and explore landmarks and history. Students can give a presentation by building and saving a tour on Google Earth. There are a lot of files for Google Earth that can e used as is or adapted for use in your classroom. Besises tours and exploration of geographical areas historical overlays are also available. For example you can overlay map of the 1904 world fair over Forest Park to view the relationship between the fair and the current layout of Forest Park.

One of the ways that you can find files that will open on Google Earth s to search for a topic followed by the letters "kmz". Both "kmz" and "kml" files wll open in Google Earth.
